I grew up in Scotland on the rugged coastline of the Northwest Highlands. Until I reached my early 20’s, I often took the incredible landscapes surrounding me for granted. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I started to fully appreciate their beauty.

I always had an interest in photography, but as a hobby it never amounted to anything more than a few holiday snaps. A few years ago, leaning on my web development background, I started developing 360° virtual tours. Using a DSLR and a drone, each ‘scene’ in these tours would require me to capture several shots using wide angle lenses, and then stitch them together to make one 360° image.

As I got more comfortable with the gear, I started taking more photos. Every outing was an opportunity to practice. In recent years I have been learning to capture landscapes through photography, which I enjoy more with every shot. I don’t consider myself an expert or a professional by any means, but my goal is to always improve.

I now live in British Columbia, Canada, where I have no end of material to capture. I’m also lucky enough to be able to visit home in Scotland, and photograph what I once took for granted.
